Welcome to Grandville UMC!
Church in the Park: 9:00am, Wedgwood Park (Summer Only)
During the summer months (mid June through Labor Day weekend) Grandville UMC hosts a worship service at Wedgwood Park at 9:00am (3391 Wilson Avenue SW. You are invited to bring your favorite lawn chair or a blanket to sit on and to enjoy the beauty of God’s creation along the banks of Buck Creek as we sign hymns and songs, offer prayers, and delve deeper into God’s word. The service lasts about 45 minutes.
Traditional Service: 10:30am
By 10:00a.m., people start to gather in our foyer to greet one another. The service begins with announcements, a prelude, a call to worship, and an opportunity to greet one another and sing an opening hymn of praise. The music is led on organ or piano with special music offered frequently. Then we move to a time of prayer. Children then go up front for Children's time with the pastor or another speaker and are then dismissed to go to Children's church (except for the summer, when they stay with us in the service: there are activity bags available with things to do each week). The Scriptures are read, and then a message is shared. The congregation responds with a hymn or liturgical reading and an offering, and then we close with a hymn and a benediction. The service lasts about an hour.
Come and worship- all are welcome!
